From the depths of my MIND!!!
Hello readers! Been awhile since I have put anything up here, been job hunting still.
Anyway just uploaded a new animation to my youtube channel which I plan on doing as a series of videos which I hope you all enjoy and please comment and share I would really appreciate it.
Its called Worst Superhero Ever, where I will come up with some mundane, crazy heros. This idea came from somewhere in this insane brain of mine. Hope you enjoy it :)
http://youtu.be/0WvdaVESYaM
So yes still job hunting and hoping for something to come up and start working. I've been looking under every rock and behind every tree for any junior or graduate positions.
Made some good progress with my Traveller comic idea, not got any concepts yet but the story has developed well. Instead of the main character being a village boy in the middle of a forest he is now a rich, upper-class young man who has had his whole life planned for him from education to wedding and has never been beyond the walls of the city. The main character also decides to fund his own expedition against his families wishes and travels across the ocean in a skyship to a new land to map it. So it is still slightly similar to the original idea just with a few location and character changes.
I very excited about it and will start making it as soon as possible, still need to figure out how to or where I will post it on the web.
On another note I actually did some photoshop stuff the other day, surprise, surprise. Played with some filters and photos that I took. Have a look and please tell me what you think and share :)

The Hunt Continues......
Well I have at least started the script of my comic, its just a rough draft for now. I am also going to work along side a long time friend of mine, Fraser Milligan, to help with The Traveller series and get it up onto a blog or website.
I have also been rather unsuccessful with job opportunities and even interviews which can really put you in a downer but I am not going to let it stop me, I am going to keep trying, sending CV's out and focus more on drawing, animating and designing. I'll have a look at my options of Postgrads as well if nothing bites and look at other job opportunities besides film, animation and design studios because well I have a family to feed and a roof to keep over their heads so it's important that I try my best.
I suppose this post is more of a monologue but also to keep you my ever persistent and loving readers an update of what's up.
Remember to check out my Youtube page and website and please share and comment

I really want to do more videos and animations for Youtube soon I just can't seem to commit any time to it at the moment.

Watching The Snail Speed Past Me!!
Things have been a little slow lately with drawing and creating ideas, I just can't seem to bring myself to sit and draw or do a wee animation . Which is bringing me down a bit because I really don't want to lose my skill and have to work up to the level I am at right now. I have been mostly thinking about ideas than actually making them. There is an idea I have had for a while and I call it "The Traveller" which I would like to make a script for first and then create it in comic book forum because that is how I see it and its an area I am interested in attempting.
"The Traveller" is about a young man who's father has just died of old age and never completed his map of the land so the young man takes the map and continues to draw and create the map in honour of his father sending him on an adventure into unknown lands, cities and even skies! Meeting new people and creatures, good and bad and getting himself caught up in an event that could change the world for better or worse!
I want to make it a fantasy adventure like Lord of the Rings mixed with steampunk and mythology. In my head it looks awesome and original but its trying to create and portray what I see that's going to be the hard part.
I am a big fan of comics. I mostly get Star Wars form Dark Horse because I am a big Star Wars fan but I also like Batman and I am starting to get a liking for Superman because of Man of Steel, which ROCKED!! by the way. There is also a comic I found called Atomic Robo which is hilarious and the artwork is really nice. Also can't forget Spawn, Spawn is awesome, whenever I see the full extent of his cape/robe it just looks sooo cool but equally a pain in the neck to draw and colour :) My comic collection is small at the moment but trust me it will grow :)
On a different note I did do two wee animations for a friend for his summer kids club last week. One was done in After Effects, it was a simple text animation where the words would zoom quickly into view with a light swipe across the last word, it was called "Richards Ridiculous Rounds of RANDOMNESSSSSSS!" It was quite fun to make and I learned a few new things about After Effects :) The second animation was also simple. I made a cartoon sun do its natural sunny thing with the odd object, astronaut, UFO fly/float by and a small comet fly towards the screen then turn and burn up in the face of the sun. I enjoyed making it, made it in about a day and a half I think just need to be coming up with my own stuff even its a bouncing ball or walk cycle or a gnome being eaten by a fish :)
Anyhooo.............COME ON ANDY!!! (for those of you following Wimbledon)
God Bless
See you in the future and I promise to have some drawing or a script or something done as soon as I can.

What's this?!?! A new Website?!?! Why yes it is!
It has been a while since my last post, been quite busy gardening, being a dad and hunting the Jobosaurus! So I do apologies :).
Anyhooo I have made a new website through the help of Google Sites where you will be able to see my work displayed more clearly than scrolling through this site till you pass all the rambling and find what you are looking for. I will admit the website is not perfect but its a start, I have been thinking about looking into web designing and coding to make it a lot easier to work with and hopefully design and make my own site. Please enjoy it, share it and also leave a comment, tell me what you think.

Earlier this week I had my end of year show at UWS Paisley where a lot of employers came to see the students work spanning across audio, animation and games. It was really fun, we had a Q&A session with some of the employers, they saw some paintings and digital artwork that we had done and then we got to show them our animations that we have all made over our years of education. It was good experience to meet people who have made it into the industry and get a feel for what they are looking for and what they themselves are like. I learned a lot at the show and it has made me realise that I really need to work harder and push my self and my skills further if I have to make it in this industry.
I am really excited, just because I am so close to having a job in the creative industry and all I want to do is prove my self and give it my all and take on the work load to help.
I am also excited about the next few months for films and games! We got Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, After Earth which I believe is out now and I cant wait to see them all!! I just watched E3 Xbox and PS and the games coming out look soooo good, can't wait for HALO!! and Star Wars Battlefront!!! Finally!
Anyway enough geeking, I will see you all in the future
God Bless

On the Hunt for the Jobosaurus!
Yup that's me, I'm at that stage of my life now hunting for a job and getting my life into the best order I can. At the moment I am finishing my CV and a show reel of what I believe to be my best work. So if you start to see a lack of posting it will be because I will be sitting patiently at a pond with my CV on the other end of my fishing rod waiting for something to bite :).
Anyway check some of my other pages I posted some new stuff and some new old stuff today.
Also please leave a comment and share my blog, I'd like to hear what you think of my work.

Welcome to The End so Lets Make it a Good One
That is me, my year is done, over with, fin, complete, all in the past now. I was able to complete my SFX in time for yesterdays deadline and I feel I did quite well for the amount of time I had left to do it. I was really lazy around the start of the year, I mean the new year not the academical year, when it came to my work. I could have been finished most of my work by the end of March if I committed myself to it more but it was a learning curve, I have definitely improved on it though, I would have tons more to do than what I had in previous years if I had not learned from those years that it is ten times better to get started on your work once it is handed to you and complete as soon as because then you will have more time to go back and improve your animation or digital painting and so on and also more time for your friends and family, this is a habit I would like to teach Islay when she goes to school.
I made my SFX using Adobe Flash, Premier and After Effects. After Effects is an amazing software package, you can do so much with it. I recommend going onto Videocopilot.com and checking their stuff out, it helped me a lot when doing my SFX module. I felt like a learned more from that website than my Lecturers :).
I have had an awesome time at College and University and it has helped me grow so much as a person, find and fuel my passion and love for films, cartoons and games so much more even down to the intricate details. I have also met and befriended some great people, great artists and animators who I hope to keep in touch with and really hope to meet again in the future and in the industry. I pray the best for them all on their new journey into the creative industry, many of them are bound to do great things with their skills and talents.
Here is my Final Year Animation, I was able to put it onto YouTube but here it is if you didn't know or haven't seen it yet and also here is my SFX below please enjoy, leave a comment, subscribe and just be cool cause you know you are!!!
